The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff’s training, professional credentials and work experience.

Jennifer Dixon, D.D.S.
Dr. Dixon grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and graduated from Salem High School in 1995. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1999, from The College of William and Mary, where she majored in Biology, minored in Chemistry. In 2003, she graduated cum laude from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry. Dr. Dixon continued her education at MCV, where she earned her specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry and her Master of Science degree in 2005. Dr. Dixon is a recipient of the prestigious Richard Pugh Award. She was recognized at the 2006 Annual American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Meeting for scoring in the top 3% in the country on her Pediatric Board Exam.

Dr. Dixon is happily married to her high school sweetheart Mark S. Dixon.
Dr. Dixon and her husband are the loving parents of Kate and Emma. In her spare time, Dr. Dixon enjoys cooking, entertaining family and friends, and taking her daughters on playdates.

Research

Dr. Dixon did her undergraduate dental research in the Department of Oral Craniofacial Molecular Biology.  Her research was titled The Genetic Analysis of Streptococcus parasanguis fim A.  The focus of this research was to develop a vaccine to help protect patients against developing bacterial endocarditis.

Dr. Dixon’s master’s thesis was on Child’s Temperament and Conscious Sedation Outcomes.  Her work in sedation dentistry has enabled her to understand and appreciate the unique relationship between child temperament and sedation outcomes.

Lauren
Lauren has been in the dental field since 2002. She has served as office manager for two dental offices from 2002 thru 2005.  Lauren is Dr. Dixon's sister-in-law.  She managed the business aspect of Charlottesville Pediatric Dentistry from 2006-2008.  In 2008, she moved to Florida, where she worked in a pediatic dental office.  She has since returned to the practice and serves as Dr. Dixon's business administrator.  In her spare time, she enjoys working out, listening to music, and hanging out with friends and family, especially Dr. Dixon's children, her nieces!  She is known in the office as The Fashionista.

Elaina
Elaina has been in the dental field since 2002. She has been working for Dr. Dixon since she opened in 2006. She is the mother to a gorgeous little boy. In her spare time she enjoys reading to her son and taking him to the park. She is known as the x-ray whisper in our office.

Alease
Alease has been the office manager for Dr.Dixon since 2008. She has a beautiful American bulldog. In her spare time she enjoys walking her dog and spending time with her friends. She is known in our office as the multitasker.

Jillian has been in the dental field since 2007. She has worked for Dr.Dixon since 2009. She is married and the mother of a gorgeous little boy and stepmother to two beautiful children. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is known as Mother Goose in our office.

Suzi
Suzi has been in the dental field since 2005. She took a 3.5 year break from dentistry to nanny for Dr.Dixons beautiful daughters. In 2010 she returned to dentistry. She is married and a mother and step mother to two wonderful boys. In her spare time she enjoys reading and spending one on one time with each of her boys. In our office she is known as Suzi Sunshine.
